How did this come to our attention?
Through our work in underserved communities, we witnessed a heartbreaking reality: children and families going entire days without a proper meal. Hunger was not just about empty stomachs—it was affecting school attendance, productivity, and overall health.
Heed Charity launched the Meals Matter initiative after speaking with local leaders, parents, and schools who shared their struggles. In many cases, children fainted in class due to lack of food, and parents had to choose between feeding their children or sending them to school.
This urgent need moved us to act. Today, Meals Matter provides nutritious meals to vulnerable communities, ensuring that no child has to learn on an empty stomach and no family is left behind in the fight against hunger.
